Sunday Velvet & Unknown Pleasures’ Unknown Artist

Timing is everything – especially when it comes to staying on top of fashion trends. Often times it can be ridiculously elusive, like trying to catch your own shadow. But on other occasions it feels like you’re somehow in sync, locked into its flow, without any effort at all.

Maybe that’s what it feels like for the guys at Sunday Velvet, a new brand we’ve been working with for a little while now.

Their homage to Joy Division’s classic LP Unknown Pleasures seems perfectly timed. Last month a copy of the album sleeve, signed by its designer Peter Saville was auctioned for charity to the sum of £800. This month New Order - the band which emerged from Joy Division following the death of Ian Curtis – continue their sell-out tour around the UK …And this piece of epic street art appeared in East London recently creating enormous curiosity about the artist and stopping  a fair bit of traffic in the process.

Check it out, if you in the neighbourhood – on the corner of Hanbury Street and Brick Lane London E2

News on Sunday Velvet stockists soon.
